Kings Casino has pledged to donate all bathroom fixtures and supplies needed for a major housing rehabilitation project in Five Islands, providing a significant boost to what organizers describe as one of their most challenging undertakings to date.

The announcement was made by the Adopt-a-Family Programme (HAPI), which is currently working to provide safe and adequate housing for a family of more than 25 people in the Five Islands community.

During discussions with Kings Casino management, HAPI representative Johann Small underscored the importance of ensuring the home includes an adequate number of bathrooms to serve the large household.

“A house isn’t just a roof; it’s about dignity, privacy, and functionality for every member of the family,” Small said.

According to HAPI, Kings Casino agreed to donate all necessary bathroom-related materials for the project, regardless of cost.

The Five Islands initiative is one of several projects currently underway through the programme, which partners with government agencies, corporate sponsors, prison inmates and volunteers to rehabilitate homes for vulnerable families across Antigua and Barbuda.

HAPI said the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, corporate partners and inmates at His Majesty’s Prison have played a key role in supporting the initiative. Inmates involved in the programme are learning construction skills while contributing to community development efforts.

The organization also thanked Prime Minister Gaston Browne, Minister Rawdon Turner and Mary Baltimore for their continued support of the housing initiative.

The Five Islands project is expected to deliver improved living conditions for the large household, with organizers promising further updates as the transformation progresses.
