A court hearing in a large-scale cannabis importation matter was postponed Wednesday after prosecutors indicated the case file is still under review.

Nadeem Brandon Doumith of Crosbies and Francis Young of Hodges Bay are jointly charged in connection with a May 9, 2025 drug seizure at Deep Water Harbour. The men face allegations including conspiracy to traffic cannabis, importation, possession, intent to supply and involvement in distribution.

Investigators reportedly found a cardboard box inside a container at the cargo shed containing 62 vacuum-sealed parcels of cannabis weighing 62 pounds. The drugs were said to carry an estimated street value of $372,000.

Doumith is represented by Wendel Alexander, while Young is represented by attorney Okola. Alexander appeared for both men at the hearing.

Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel was told the matter remains with the vetting unit and must be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for a determination. The case was adjourned to April 1.
