A man in his thirties from Newfield has died following an alleged confrontation with his mother-in-law at a home in the community.

Preliminary reports indicate the incident occurred during an altercation inside the residence. The woman reportedly told investigators that the man—who is married to her daughter—entered the house and attempted to sexually assault her.
