Fake ‘Arrive Antigua’ websites target travelers, residents urged to warn visitors

Residents and tourism stakeholders are being urged to warn visitors about fraudulent websites posing as Antigua and Barbuda’s official online arrival form after reports of travelers being charged fees that are not required.

According to reports, travelers were directed to a website closely resembling the government’s Arrive Antigua platform and were asked to upload personal photographs and pay up to US$100 per person to complete what they believed was a mandatory entry requirement.

There is no tourist visa or arrival fee required for most visitors entering Antigua and Barbuda, including travelers from Canada. The official Arrive Antigua form is completed free of charge via the government’s website.

Authorities have advised that the only legitimate platform for completing the online arrival form is www.arriveantigua.com and caution that third-party sites may closely mimic official government pages while charging unauthorized fees.

Residents, accommodation providers and members of the tourism sector are being encouraged to remind visitors to verify website addresses carefully and to avoid any site that requests payment, credit card details or personal uploads beyond standard travel information.

Individuals who believe they may have used a fraudulent website are advised to contact their bank immediately to request a chargeback and to report the matter to the relevant authorities.
