The Antigua and Barbuda Football Association has congratulated the national Under-14 boys’ team following its impressive campaign at the 2026 CFU U14 Challenge Series in Punta Cana.
The ABFA praised the young footballers after their tournament run ended with a hard-fought 3-1 defeat to Suriname in the semi-finals.
Antigua and Barbuda fell behind early in the match before forward Kaiique Martin found the equaliser in the 27th minute. The team continued to battle before Suriname scored twice late in the second half to secure the victory.
Despite the semi-final defeat, the ABFA highlighted the team’s strong performance throughout the competition.
The U14 boys won all three of their group-stage matches, finishing at the top of their group and earning a place in the semi-finals.
The association thanked the players, coaches, staff and supporters for their “dedication, commitment and belief throughout this journey.”
“The result may not have been what we wanted, but the boys made their country proud,” the ABFA said.
It encouraged the young players to keep their heads high, adding: “This is only the beginning.”
