The YASCO Sports Complex has lost its World Athletics Class 2 certification as plans continue to replace its deteriorating running surface.
Antigua and Barbuda Athletic Association President Shawnor Charles Joseph said Mondo has processed the order for the new surface but has not confirmed a shipping date.
A separate warm-up track, required before resurfacing begins, is about 80 per cent complete. Once materials arrive, replacing the main track could take up to two months.
YASCO, certified in 2021, remains Antigua and Barbuda’s only dedicated track and field facility.
