St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda Tuesday, January 20, 2026

The police have arrested a male suspect in connection with an alleged robbery at Enzo’s Restaurant, located at the junction of St. John’s Street and Popeshead Street.

Reports indicate that around 2:20 a.m. on Monday, January 19, two male suspects entered the restaurant while an employee was at the cash register.

One of the suspects, described as being approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, slimly built, dressed in a green hoodie, short pants, and wearing a mask, reportedly pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the employee, while a second suspect allegedly jumped over the counter and robbed the owners of a Samsung A25 cellular phone valued at $1,000, along with a cash pan containing an undisclosed sum of money.

Both men reportedly fled the scene on foot in an eastern direction.

Police officers promptly responded to the scene and carried out a search of the immediate area.

A male suspect of Villa was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of robbery. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

The police are appealing to anyone who may have information that can further assist with this investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) or the nearest police station.
