The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Next Generation Referees Training Course has officially concluded, following a closing ceremony at the Royal St. Kitts Hotel, marking the successful staging of the regional programme in St. Kitts and Nevis.

The course, hosted by the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) , brought together emerging referees from across the Caribbean for several days of intensive classroom instruction, fitness work, match simulations and leadership development. Hosting arrangements and coordination were led by Graeme Browne, head of the SKNFA Referees Department.

Antigua and Barbuda’s Robert Emmanuel delivered a strong performance throughout the programme, earning second place among male participants and receiving recognition as one of the course’s Leadership Awardees. Fellow Antiguan match official Teyarni Mourrillon also completed the programme, gaining valuable regional exposure and experience.

Several other participants were recognised during the closing ceremony for their performance and leadership. Sherwin Alli of Guyana received the Peer Award, while Jody Walters of St. Kitts and Nevis earned the Instructors’ Award. Shawn Gonsalves of Trinidad and Tobago was named Top Male Referee, with Gladys Namit of Martinique awarded Top Female Referee. Monique Williams of Jamaica finished second among female participants.

The CFU Next Generation Referees Training Course is designed to identify and develop the region’s next wave of elite match officials. Organisers said the successful hosting of the programme further reflects SKNFA’s commitment to referee education and the continued advancement of football officiating across the Caribbean.
