Prime Minister Gaston Browne says he will take up concerns about unpaid seaweed workers with the relevant government ministry following a complaint raised during his Browne and Browne radio programme.

The issue was brought to his attention by a caller who reported that individuals involved in seaweed cleanup efforts have not yet been paid.

Browne acknowledged the concern and said he would intervene to have the matter addressed.

“I will raise the issue with the ministry,” he said.

The response came as the programme opened its lines to public concerns, with the prime minister indicating that the government will follow up to ensure the situation is resolved.
