His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams today paid tribute to doctors across Antigua and Barbuda and the diaspora during a Church Service at the Holy Family Cathedral to mark International Doctors’ Day.

The Governor General praised the dedication, compassion, and service of medical professionals, noting their vital role in caring for individuals and families at critical moments of life.

“A healthy nation is a productive nation,” His Excellency stated, reaffirming the importance of continued investment in healthcare, wellness, and prevention.

He encouraged citizens to express gratitude to doctors and all who support the health sector, and commended the Antigua and Barbuda Medical Association for organising the commemorative activities.

Quoting Winston Churchill, he reminded the nation that “healthy citizens are the greatest asset any country can have,” and offered prayers for continued strength and guidance for all who serve in the medical profession.
