The Antigua and Barbuda Yachting and Marine Association (ABYMA) is thrilled to announce the official launch of the event calendar for the 2026-2027 yachting season. As the destination continues to solidify its reputation as the premier hub for international maritime activity, this year’s schedule promises an unprecedented array of world-class competitions and community-focused celebrations.

Each year, the calendar expands, welcoming a vibrant mix of signature staples alongside high-stakes international racing. The upcoming season features the highly anticipated return of the Antigua Yacht Show and premier Sport Fishing Tournament, as well as cornerstone racing events that are widely regarded as the best in the region, including the RORC Caribbean 600 and the Nelson Series.

    Elevated Racing

The second year of the newly launched Antigua Racing Cup underscores Antigua’s commitment to evolving the sport and catering to a global audience with a new earlier date in March ensuring the event is well placed for boats racing in the RORC Caribbean 600 to complete in another event while in the Caribbean.

    Celebrating Tradition and Innovation

Antigua’s unique events continue to go from strength to strength. The iconic Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta remains a highlight for traditional enthusiasts, alongside the Antigua Superyacht Challenge showcasing some of the worlds most beautiful boats. Meanwhile, the newly formatted Antigua Sailing Week returns as a dynamic four-day event for its second year. By incorporating various destinations around the island, this new format aims to capture the authentic spirit, fun, and deep-rooted love of sailing that defines the island’s maritime heritage.

The Worlds Toughest Row, the Salty Dawg Rally & the McCintyre 580 Transat will again offer intrepid explorers some of the most challenging routes to Antigua.

    Community Engagement

In addition to professional racing, the Antigua Yacht Club (AYC) is hosting a diverse range of events accessible to all sailing enthusiasts. The Jol Byerley High Tide Series”—which includes the High Tide Race, the Boxing Day Barrel, the Nelson’s Pursuit, and the Sandy Island Race—is designed to welcome sailors of all levels, ensuring that the season is as inclusive as it is competitive.

On the West Coast Jolly Harbour Yact Club adds a brand new One Design Elite regatta which is the Caribbean Championship in the run up to the Jolly Harbour Valentines Regatta.

Dinghy sailing and racing takes place year round and the pinnacle event will take place in April – the Budget Marine Optimist & ILCA National Championships will see hit competition.

“We are incredibly proud of this year’s calendar,” said ABYMA President Franklyn Braithwaite. “From world-renowned offshore races to community-driven regattas, Antigua and Barbuda is cementing its place at the heart of the international sailing calendar. We invite sailors, spectators, and families from around the world to join us for an unforgettable year.”

The ABYMA thanks Falmouth Harbour Marina for its continued support of the ABYMA and the calendar initiative which it has been supporting for many years.
