ST. JOHN’S, Antigua — Leader of the Opposition Jamale Pringle has met with France’s new Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, Marie-Noëlle Duris, for talks focused on strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation.

The discussions covered several areas of mutual interest, including climate change and resilience, security, education, health and regional integration.

The meeting also explored opportunities to deepen Antigua and Barbuda’s relationship with France, including greater engagement with French territories and departments in the Caribbean.

Climate resilience remains a significant issue for Caribbean states as governments seek greater international cooperation to address the effects of extreme weather and other climate-related challenges.

Security, education and health were also identified as areas in which closer cooperation could support broader ties between Antigua and Barbuda and France.

Pringle and Duris expressed a shared commitment to strengthening relations and promoting further collaboration between the two countries and across the wider Caribbean.

Duris recently assumed her diplomatic role representing France in Antigua and Barbuda and the Caribbean.
