The Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) is currently being represented at the 2026 Concacaf Professional Football Development Seminar, taking place from September 16-17 in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
Representing Antigua and Barbuda are Ms. Portia Davis, Club Licensing Manager, and Mr. Gershum Phillips, League Director for the Men’s Top Division League.
The two-day seminar, hosted by Concacaf’s Professional Football Development team, brings together Club Licensing Managers and League Directors from across all 41 Member Associations. The forum serves as a key platform to provide comprehensive information on professional football matters.
Topics being covered include:
– A review of implementation strategies for the Club Licensing Regulations
– Breakdown of timelines and benchmarking areas
– Club competition updates on behalf of Concacaf
– Best-practice knowledge sharing from across the region on club licensing and league operations
– A comprehensive analysis of the technological tools used by Concacaf for implementation processes
The ABFA’s participation underscores its continued commitment to strengthening domestic club licensing and professionalizing league operations in line with Concacaf and FIFA standards.
This follows the Association’s recent success in having multiple clubs attain Domestic Club Licences for the second consecutive year.
ABFA wishes Ms. Davis and Mr. Philip a productive seminar and looks forward to the implementation of the key learnings to further develop football in Antigua and Barbuda
