Police investigations have uncovered cases in which box-hand holders allegedly fabricated robbery and burglary reports to conceal missing funds.

Head of the Criminal Investigations Department, Assistant Commissioner of Police Lisborn Michael, said some individuals misappropriated box-hand money before falsely reporting they had been robbed or their homes burglarized.

“From time to time, we receive quite a number of reports that are false,” Michael said.

He said those implicated were charged with public mischief. Some cases have already been dealt with by the courts, while others remain pending.
