The United States has donated computers, printers and other educational technology equipment to the National Public Library of Antigua and Barbuda as part of efforts to expand access to technology.

According to the U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown, the donation was made through the Denton Humanitarian Assistance Program in partnership with R. Mims World Group of New Mexico.

The equipment was transported to Antigua aboard a U.S. Air Force C-17 aircraft, using available military airlift capacity to deliver the shipment.

The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force assisted with moving the donated equipment from the airport tarmac to the National Public Library.

The shipment includes computers, printers and other technology intended to strengthen the library’s resources and improve public access to educational technology.

The U.S. Embassy said the initiative represents continued cooperation between the United States and Antigua and Barbuda and forms part of efforts to strengthen the wider U.S.-Caribbean partnership.
