The Antigua and Barbuda Dental Association (ABDA) is proud to announce that Antigua and Barbuda has been officially seated in the FDI World Dental Parliament. Dr. Deborah Akande, President of the ABDA, received Antigua and Barbuda’s Certificate on stage during the World Dental Congress held on 11 September 2025 at the National Exhibition and Conference Center in Shanghai, China.

The FDI World Dental Federation is the leading global organization representing nearly 200 national dental associations and over one million dentists around the world. It sets international dental policies, strategies, and goals that shape the future of oral healthcare. Antigua and Barbuda now joins fellow Caribbean countries Barbados, Jamaica, and Bermuda in the Parliament.

“Antigua and Barbuda’s entry ensures our nation has a voice on the global dental stage,” said Dr. Akande. “This milestone reflects the vision and commitment of our Association and Executive, as well as the innovative initiatives we have launched to improve oral health.”

This historic appointment opens new doors for Antigua and Barbuda in regional collaboration, education, grants, and leadership in global oral health.
