The **Antigua Yacht Club (AYC)** is excited to announce that it will host the **2025 Caribbean Dinghy Championship (CDC)** , sanctioned by the **Caribbean Sailing Association (CSA)** , from **October 24–26, 2025**.

This premier dinghy regatta will gather the Caribbean’s top sailors for four days of spirited racing and regional celebration in the heart of the sailing capital of the Caribbean.

The 2025 CDC will feature competition across six classes: **Optimist** , **ILCA 4** , **ILCA 6** , **ILCA 7** , the **Topper Fusion** (double-handed), and the **RS Venture** (double-handed/adaptive).

With categories designed to include youth, senior, and inclusive sailing, the event continues to be a cornerstone of the region’s sailing development.

“We’re honored to welcome sailors from across the Caribbean to Antigua,” said AYC Commodore, Dr. Clarence Pilgrim. “Our club is passionate about competitive sailing and community, and we are proud to provide a world-class venue for this important championship.”

**Team Antigua will enter the 2025 championship as the defending Nations Cup champions** , having secured victory once again in 2024—adding to their impressive wins in **2019, 2022, and 2023**.

With the event now taking place on home waters, the local team will have strong support as they pursue a fifth title.

The 2024 edition, hosted in St. Maarten, saw intense racing and growing participation from teams across the region, including Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Martinique, St. Kitts & Nevis, French St. Martin, and St. Barths. Organizers anticipate an even broader turnout this year.

“The CDC is more than just a regatta—it’s a celebration of our shared Caribbean identity through sport,” said Karl James MBE, OLY, Event Coordinator at the Antigua Yacht Club.

“We’re preparing an unforgettable event both on the water and ashore, and we can’t wait to welcome sailors, families, and supporters.”

The **Caribbean Dinghy Championship** is owned and governed by the **Caribbean Sailing Association** , which is dedicated to promoting sailing and developing talent throughout the region.

The CDC highlights the best of Caribbean dinghy racing while fostering sportsmanship, youth engagement, and cross-island collaboration.
