Her Excellency Karen-Mae Hill, High Commissioner of Antigua and Barbuda to the United Kingdom, today received a contribution of flags from Dr M. Nazrul Islam, Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh, to support preparations for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Antigua and Barbuda.
The contribution comprised several sets of flags representing every Commonwealth country, as well as Commonwealth flags. The flags include indoor, outdoor and table flags, which will be displayed at various venues throughout the conference.
Minister of Foreign Affairs E. P. Chet Greene welcomed the contribution, saying: “This generous gesture reflects the spirit of partnership and shared purpose that is at the heart of the Commonwealth. The flags will be a meaningful part of our preparations as Antigua and Barbuda welcomes Commonwealth leaders and delegates to CHOGM 2026.”
High Commissioner Hill said: “We are grateful to Dr Islam and the Government and people of Bangladesh for this thoughtful contribution. The flags represent the diversity and unity of our Commonwealth family, and they will help bring that spirit to life as we prepare to host this important gathering in Antigua and Barbuda.”
The Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh stated:
“Bangladesh proudly stands alongside Antigua and Barbuda as it prepares to welcome the Commonwealth family. Reflecting the high- quality textile products of Bangladesh, these flags are a token of love from the People of Bangladesh for Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Commonwealth Family. The pledge for the gift was made by Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Foreign Minister of Bangladesh and the current President of UNGA, during the Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers’ Meeting (CFAMM) held in March 2026 in London.
”
The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting will take place in Antigua and Barbuda from 1 to 4 November 2026.
