Antigua and Barbuda’s inflation rate climbed to
4.4% in July 2026
, reflecting a broader increase in the cost of living, according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report.
The National Bureau of Statistics said the 4.4% increase was recorded over the 12 months ending July 2026. The index excluding food and energy rose by
4.1%
, while the Energy index increased by
20.6%
.
Prices also increased significantly on a month-to-month basis, with the overall CPI rising

Several categories recorded substantial year-on-year increases. Communication costs rose

Housing and utility costs were another major pressure point. The Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels index increased

. Actual housing rents increased 2%.
Food prices moved in the opposite direction. The Food index declined
0.8% year-on-year
, including a 13.8% drop in fruit prices and a 5% decline in Meat and Meat Products.
