Titans Keep Three-Peat Dream Alive, Set Up Championship Clash with Unbeaten Money Team by Brent Simon

The stage is set for what could be the biggest championship showdown in recent NPPA history after the back-to-back defending champions Titans battled past the Billiard Kings 5-3 on Monday night to secure their place in the Team Championship Final for a third consecutive season.

    Now, one final obstacle remains.

Standing between the Titans and an unprecedented three-peat is the competition’s most dominant team this season—Money Team, who storm into the final carrying a remarkable 19-match unbeaten streak and the confidence of a team that has yet to be defeated.

The championship series promises to be a fascinating collision between a dynasty determined to cement its legacy and a rising powerhouse intent on rewriting the script.

The Billiard Kings made the perfect start to the playoff clash as Demolition Man swept Chapo in straight racks to hand his side an early 1-0 advantage.

    The Titans answered immediately.

B.A.D., who had fallen to Henry in an earlier meeting, turned the tables in convincing fashion with a straight-racks victory to level the contest before SES, continuing his reputation as one of the Titans’ most reliable playoff performers, dismantled Killer in two straight racks to push the defending champions ahead 2-1.

The Billiard Kings refused to back down.

Mac-10 blanked Marzack to draw the teams level before Sniper defeated Peck to restore the Kings’ advantage at 3-2—the second time during the night they found themselves in front and seemingly in control of the contest.

Championship teams, however, have a habit of responding when the pressure is greatest.

Scarface produced one of the performances of the evening, dispatching Grim in straight racks to level the match once again. The victory carried extra significance, denying Grim the opportunity to repeat the heroics that had helped secure the Billiard Kings’ previous two playoff victories.

With the momentum swinging back in the Titans’ favour, Charbel delivered the turning point of the night.

After dropping the opening rack to Jahson, Charbel showed remarkable composure, fighting back to win the next two racks and put the defending champions on the hill.

That left Cue Ball Rickie with the opportunity to finish the job.

Looking to bounce back after disappointment in his previous outing, Rickie responded in emphatic fashion, sweeping Metro in straight racks to secure the decisive fifth point, sending the Titans into another championship series and eliminating the need for the scheduled final matchup between Nalda and Tonic Man.

The victory keeps alive the Titans’ quest for a historic third consecutive NPPA Team Championship, a feat they confidently predicted before the season began.

But standing across the table is a Money Team side with ambitions of its own.

Unbeaten through 19 consecutive matches, Money Team has established itself as the team to beat this season and has made it clear that it has no intention of allowing the Titans’ dynasty to continue. Their flawless campaign has been built on consistency, depth and relentless execution, setting the stage for what many are already calling a dream final.

Will experience and championship pedigree deliver a historic three-peat for the Titans?

Or will Money Team complete a perfect season by ending the reign of the defending champions?

One legacy will be strengthened. Another will be denied.

Before the championship takes centre stage, the Billiard Kings and Cue Action will meet in the third-place playoff beginning Monday as both teams battle for the final podium position.
