Education Minister Daryll Matthew has congratulated students, parents, teachers and school communities across Antigua and Barbuda following the release of the 2026 Grade 6 National Assessment results, praising the commitment and determination that led to this year’s achievements.

In a statement issued after the results were announced on Friday, Matthew described the examination as an important milestone in the educational journey of the nation’s children and commended the collective efforts of families, educators and school leaders in supporting student success.

The minister paid special tribute to the country’s top performers, congratulating Denushka H. Gibbs of Minoah Magnet Academy for earning the distinction of top national student.

He also recognized Marlensky J. Salien of Antigua Baptist Academy, who placed second nationally and was named the country’s top male student, and Necasia B. Ralph of J. T. Ambrose Primary School, who finished third overall and emerged as the highest-performing student from a government primary school.

Matthew also acknowledged Post Millennial Academy for producing the largest number of students in the National Top 100, with 12 students securing places on the list.

While celebrating the achievements of the highest-ranking students, the minister emphasized that success should not be defined solely by examination rankings.

“To every student, whether your name appears on a list or not, be proud of your efforts,” Matthew said. “This is just one milestone on your educational journey. Keep believing in yourselves, keep working hard, and continue striving for excellence.”

He also encouraged students preparing to enter secondary school to embrace the opportunities ahead, expressing confidence they would continue to grow academically and personally as they advance in their education.
