    Magnitude 3.8 Earthquake Recorded Near Antigua

    A magnitude 3.8 earthquake was recorded early Tuesday morning near Antigua, according to the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre.

    The tremor occurred at 7:33 a.m. local time at a depth of 17 kilometres, with its epicentre located approximately 79 kilometres southeast of St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.

    The quake was also measured 73 kilometres northeast of Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, and 112 kilometres east of Brades, Montserrat.

    There have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

    The Seismic Research Centre noted that the event was automatically generated by computer systems and may be revised following further analysis.
