Khan Cordice is calling on political candidates to engage local artists as the country heads into an election period, arguing that such support could strengthen both cultural expression and public trust.

In a social media post, Cordice encouraged politicians to work with singers, composers, producers, writers and instrumentalists in crafting campaign material, as well as graphic and visual artists for branding and messaging.

“I believe it would bode well if you hire or engage a singer, composer, producer, writer or instrumentalist in your musical quests,” Cordice said. “Maybe even engage a graphic or visual artist for your visual needs as well.”

He added that such collaboration would send a positive signal to the creative community, demonstrating that leaders value and are willing to invest in local talent.

“It shows creatives that you do care about them enough to support them and may also encourage them to push the boundaries of their creativity,” he said.

Cordice also pointed to the growing use of artificial intelligence in campaign production, cautioning that reliance on AI could send the wrong message to artists whose livelihoods depend on creative work.

“Yes there is AI, but what message do you send to the same creatives you intend to lead?” he asked.

The comments come as political activity intensifies ahead of an expected general election, with candidates preparing campaign strategies that increasingly rely on digital and multimedia outreach.
