**_ABS_** — A Jennings family is calling for justice following the fatal stabbing of a man described by relatives as a hardworking and devoted father.

According to ABS News, the man was reportedly attacked while inside his vehicle with his nine-year-old son near the Valley Road service station around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. He was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre with a puncture wound to his right shoulder and was pronounced dead at about 5:08 p.m.

Family members say they remain in shock over what they called a senseless killing. A close family friend, identified only as Jennifer, told ABS that the loss has been especially devastating for the mother of three of the man’s children, who was too distraught to speak publicly.

“It was unfair for a family to lose a son, father, uncle or brother at the hands of someone with mental illness, while nothing seems to come from it,” Jennifer said in the ABS report.

Eyewitnesses alleged the incident occurred near the Kentish Road junction before the wounded man drove toward a nearby service station in an effort to reach medical care.

Relatives described him as a dedicated parent who ensured his children were cared for, sharing whatever he had with them and taking an active role in their daily lives.

The family is now urging authorities to conduct a thorough investigation as they seek answers and closure.
