    Two Arrested in Connection with Fraud Investigation

    St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Thursday, 19 February 2026

    Two male suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations, following attempts to allegedly convert two cheques to their own use.

    Sometime after 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, 19 February, police detectives attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) responded to a report at a local bank on High Street, where the two individuals were reportedly found in possession of two cheques of large amounts.

    Both suspects were subsequently apprehended and taken into custody. The cheques were also recovered by the police as part of the ongoing investigation.

    The police are appealing to anyone with additional information that may assist with this investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call the Crimestoppers anonymous hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).
