The Rotary Club of Antigua today donated 500 laptops to the Antigua and Barbuda College of Advanced Studies (ABCAS) under its Education Through Technology Programme, strengthening access to digital tools for tertiary students across the country.

The presentation brought together Rotarians and ABCAS leadership, with the Hon. Daryll Matthew, Minister of Education, Sports and the Creative Industries. The Minister expressed appreciation for Rotary’s continued commitment to education in Antigua and Barbuda.

Speaking at the handover, Rotary Club of Antigua President Elisa Graham said, “Digital literacy is now a fundamental life skill, as critical as reading and writing. Through the Education Through Technology Programme, Rotary is helping to ensure our students are not left behind in an increasingly digital global society.”

Dr. E. Jonah Greene, President of ABCAS, noted that many students do not have regular access to laptops, which often makes it difficult for them to complete assignments and fully participate in their courses. She explained that the new devices will be issued through a loan system, ensuring fair access for students and improving overall academic performance.

This initiative continues a long-standing partnership with the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club of Washington State, whose support has helped sustain the programme over several years.

The Rotary Club of Antigua reaffirmed its commitment to working with educational institutions and government partners to strengthen national development through education.

The Rotary Club of Antigua is part of Rotary International, a global service organization dedicated to humanitarian service, education, and community development.
