Airline traffic is surging globally heading into the New Year with airports across the region experiencing high passenger volumes (insert Barbados photo) and signaling a robust start to the 2025/202G winter season.

Last Monday, VC Bird International Airport experienced yet another peak operational day, mirroring last Saturday’s activities when the facilities processed 14 international flights.

Despite the unprecedented passenger volumes, travelers are reporting a high level of customer experience at the VC Bird International. Visitors Mr. & Mrs. Chee- loy, guests at Jolly Beach Resort for a week-long wintery escape, commented:

“We saw the planes passing over (the hotel in recent days) very frequently, and some even circling. We thought we would experience long lines when we got to the airport for our departure.”

Instead, they continued, “Our transition through the terminal was very smooth and efficient.”

The robust start to the season reflects growing international confidence in Antigua and Barbuda’s world famous beaches, attractions and customer-focused service that begins upon airport arrival, and an experience for which the airport shapes that lasting impression.

With the heavy international passenger traffic expected to resume today Friday January 2nd and continuing through the weekend of January 11th, passengers are encouraged to arrive at the airport no less than two (2) hours before flight departure.
