Guest Artist Announcement | 43rd Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Teen Pageant

We are honored to welcome Miss Caribbean Universe 2025, Ms. Desrie Markham, as a Guest Artist at the 43rd edition of the Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Teen Pageant — a woman whose brilliance spans law, leadership, theatre, and service.

Ms. Desrie Markham is an accomplished Attorney-at-Law in Antigua, currently serving as Crown Counsel II within the Attorney General’s Chambers. Her legal experience spans Criminal Law, Civil Litigation, Family Law, and International Climate Change Policy and Law, reflecting her deep commitment to justice, advocacy, and meaningful impact.

Beyond the courtroom, Ms. Markham is a passionate advocate for the performing arts and youth development. For the past eight years, she has been an active member of the National Youth Theatre, mentoring young performers and instilling values of speech excellence, stage presence, discipline, and confidence. Theatre has been both a creative outlet and a leadership platform for her—one that continues to shape lives.

A seasoned pageant queen with numerous titles and placements, Ms. Markham understands the transformative power of pageantry as a form of expression, healing, and empowerment. Her platform, “Drama: A Safe Space for the Depressed, Deprived, and Delinquent,” uses theatre as a tool for therapy and self-discovery, engaging youth and providing positive alternatives to life’s challenges.

Her commitment to service also extends through her work with Youth Arise Antigua, contributing to school improvement projects, donating supplies, and educating young women on hygienic practices and self-care.

Guided by the belief that “success is not final, and failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts,” Ms. Desrie Markham embodies resilience, grace, and purpose. Her presence at this year’s pageant promises to inspire our delegates and audience alike—reminding us that talent, education, and service can coexist to create lasting change.

Join us as we celebrate excellence, empowerment, and Caribbean pride with Miss Caribbean Universe 2025, Desrie Markham
