Prime Minister Gaston Browne says Antigua and Barbuda is entering what he predicts will be a decade of sustained economic growth, driven by strong fiscal performance, infrastructure development, and record levels of investment.

Speaking on the _Browne and Browne Show_ on Pointe FM, Browne said all major economic indicators are trending upward and that the country’s performance remains one of the strongest in the Eastern Caribbean.

“We are now poised for a decade of growth,” Browne said. “Every metric that you look at — there’s not one that is underperforming. We have done so well with the country’s economy. We have attracted investments. We have provided growth for the people. Per capita income is growing.”

He said the government’s prudent fiscal management and partnerships with the private sector have supported consistent expansion across tourism, construction, and services. Browne noted that inflation has fallen sharply from post-pandemic highs of 9–10%, with forecasts showing it stabilizing around 3% by early next year.

According to the prime minister, the government is now broadening its focus beyond economic stabilization to social and environmental progress.

“We’ve gone past the point of just focusing on economic growth,” Browne said. “We have to go beyond the economic — to focus on the social areas, the environmental area, and even the spiritual.”

Browne said the next stage of national development will prioritize investments in education, healthcare, and community infrastructure to ensure citizens benefit directly from the country’s economic momentum.

“With sustained growth, our goal is to improve living standards and create a society where everyone shares in the progress,” he said.

The prime minister’s remarks come as Antigua and Barbuda continues to report strong performance in key sectors, including tourism, which is projected to record more than one million cruise visitors this season.
