    Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Umpires Association Appoints New Executive at Biennial Convention – New President after 28 years

    The Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Umpires Association (ABCUA) is pleased to announce the appointment of its new executive team, elected during the Association’s Biennial Convention held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the Antigua Grammar School.

    The newly elected executive members are as follows:

    • President – Mr. Javid Goodwin
    • Vice President – Mr. Felix Auguiste
    • Secretary – Ms. Melissa Lawrie
    • Treasurer – Mr. Avoy Knight
    • Assistant Secretary/Treasurer – Mr. Julian Roberts
    • Public Relations Officer (PRO) – Mrs. Hayden-Ann Walsh-Palmer
    • Executive Member – Mr. James Trotman

    The Biennial Convention brought together members of the ABCUA to reflect on the accomplishments of the past term and to chart a way forward for strengthening cricket officiating in Antigua and Barbuda.

    Mr. James Stevens, who faithfully served as President of the Association for an outstanding 28 years, was challenged in the election by Mr. Javid Goodwin. In his remarks, President Goodwin expressed deep appreciation to Mr. Stevens for his unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions to the Association. He further noted his hope that Mr. Stevens will continue to play an advisory role during the upcoming term.

    Mr. Goodwin humbly acknowledged that he could never walk in Mr. Stevens’ shoes, but emphasized his commitment to wearing his own as he leads the Association forward.

    Newly elected President Mr. Javid Goodwin expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him and the new executive team, noting that the Association remains committed to raising the standards of umpiring, enhancing training opportunities for members, and contributing to the continued growth of cricket in the nation.

    The Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Umpires Association extends thanks to its outgoing executive members for their dedicated service and looks forward to a productive term under the leadership of its new executive body.
