The suspect in the country’s last homicide for 2024 was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison after he appeared in the St John’s Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Mishkah John, 33, of Yorks faces murder charges in the December 16 shooting death of Javaughn Joseph outside a Redcliffe Street nightclub.

Joseph, from Jennings, was rushed to hospital but did not survive his injuries. A second person was also wounded in the incident.

John, who was detained last week for questioning before being charged, appeared before Magistrate Dexter Wason.

He is scheduled to return to court on March 17.
