    Kemorley Pemberton Charged After Allegedly Threatening Employee at Little Canton With Imitation Firearm

    JOHN HUGHES MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF IMITATION FIREARM

    St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda

    Police have arrested and charged Kemorley Pemberton of John Hughes with Possession of an Imitation Firearm, following an incident on Independence Drive.

    At approximately 8:50 a.m., on Wednesday, August 19, police responded to a report at Little Canton, where Pemberton allegedly threatened an employee with what appeared to be a firearm following a dispute between the two men.

    Police subsequently located Pemberton inside an abandoned building on Bird Road. During a search of the premises, an imitation firearm was recovered. He was taken into custody and later charged.

    The general public is reminded that it is an offence under Section 13(1) of the Firearms (Amendment) Act, 2024, for a person to use or attempts to use a firearm or imitation firearm in furtherance of an offence.

    Anyone found guilty of this offence is liable upon conviction on indictment to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 20 years.
