I have a serious question for the Ministry of Public Works in Antigua and Barbuda : Who is responsible for ensuring that the drivers operating the heavy-duty trucks carrying sand, dirt and other materials are properly trained, licensed and driving responsibly?
Some of these trucks are being driven extremely recklessly , and it is honestly becoming frightening to witness. These are large, heavy vehicles that can cause serious damage or even loss of life if they are involved in an accident.
Is there proper monitoring of these drivers? Are their licenses, training and driving practices being checked? And are there consequences when they are caught driving dangerously?
This is not about targeting anyone personally. It is about public safety. We shouldn’t have to wait for a major accident, serious injuries or a loss of life before something is done.
Ministry of Public Works, please look into this before someone gets seriously hurt. Our roads should be safe for everyone—not just the drivers operating these trucks.
