The Atlantic basin remains quiet, with no tropical cyclone formation expected over the next seven days, according to the National Hurricane Center.

However, the NHC cautioned that the climatological peak of the Atlantic hurricane season is approaching and tropical activity can develop across virtually any part of the basin.

Residents are being encouraged to review their hurricane plans and ensure they have the necessary supplies and preparations in place.
