Glanvilles Football Club honoured its leading players and celebrated the team’s legacy during its 2026 awards ceremony at the Glanvilles Community Centre on Saturday.

Rodney George received the Most Valuable Player award for the 2025-26 season, while Rashaun Martin claimed the Golden Boot after scoring the most goals for the club.

Avondre Johnson received the Fair Play Award, and Tyjorne Simon was named Most Improved Player. Khadeem “Dan One” St. Jean and Roshane “Vinny” Burton shared the Leadership Award.

Johnson and Simon were also selected as the club’s best-dressed players by Antigua and Barbuda Football Association member Zita Edwards.

Club President Vernon “Cactus” Spencer thanked the executive, players, sponsors and community stakeholders for their contributions throughout the season. Every player received a medal and gift bag from the club’s executive committee.

The ceremony included a presentation by Whitfield “Hashie” Joshua on the history of Glanvilles FC and a motivational address from former club midfielder Pastor Randolph Hazelwood.

A moment of silence was also observed for Adrian “Abassa” Adams, a recently deceased sportsman from the SeaGlans community.

Karen Joseph, president of the Antigua and Barbuda Netball Association, and Edwards assisted with the presentation of awards. Sponsors and stakeholders, including Stingray City Antigua, Muffy’s Eastside Grocery and Service Station and the Teacher Audrey Scholarship Foundation, were also recognized.

Vice President Jessica Matthew delivered the vote of thanks. The ceremony ended with group photographs, refreshments and socializing.
