ST JOHN’S, Antigua — Registration units across Antigua and Barbuda opened from as early as 6 a.m. today to facilitate the collection of Voter Identification Cards and the processing of special ID cards ahead of voting.
The early opening is aimed at assisting electors who have yet to collect their IDs, ensuring they are able to participate in the ongoing general election.
Officials have been encouraging voters to make use of the extended hours to complete the process, as a valid voter ID card is required in order to cast a ballot.
The move forms part of efforts by electoral authorities to streamline election day procedures and reduce delays at polling stations.
Electors are being urged to act promptly and ensure they are fully prepared to vote.
