The Hon. H. Charles ‘Max’ Fernandez is celebrating a monumental victory as the Max Fernandez CG Gunners claimed the 2026 League Championship, delivering a commanding performance that has ignited pride across Cedar Grove and the entire St. John’s Rural North community.
From the opening whistle, the Gunners came locked in, focused, and ready. The energy was undeniable, CG Gunners vibes like never before, as the team took the court prepared, disciplined, and determined to finish strong.
The roaring support from fans, families, and the wider community created an electric atmosphere that fueled the team from start to finish.
In contrast, their opponents, the Old Road Daggers, appeared unsettled and out of sync, unable to match the intensity and cohesion of a Gunners side on a mission.
Minister Fernandez, the team’s proud sponsor, hailed the victory as a powerful reflection of hard work and unity:
“This victory shows what happens when preparation meets passion. I am immensely proud of this team, their discipline, their drive, and their determination carried them all the way. It was truly an honour to stand with them and support their journey.”
He added that this moment continues a growing tradition of sporting excellence across the constituency:
“This is now the second major championship by a team under my sponsorship. Just last year, our football team, the Cedar Grove Blue Jays, secured promotion to the First Division after a dominant run. We are building champions in St. John’s Rural North, and we’re just getting started.”
As celebrations continue, Minister Fernandez and Team Rural North extend resounding congratulations to the players, coaches, and supporters of the CG Gunners.
Champions today. Legacy forever.
Rural North staying with Max.
