A team from the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) returned home Tuesday after earning second-place finishes in both the experienced and apprentice categories at the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC) Linesworker Rodeo held in Dominica over the weekend.

The results mark a strong showing for APUA, with the utility company highlighting the performance as a reflection of the skill, training and teamwork of its linesmen.

The annual competition brings together utility workers from across the region to test their technical abilities and safety practices in simulated field challenges. APUA said the event also provided an opportunity to strengthen ties among Caribbean utilities and exchange best practices.

Officials noted that beyond the podium finishes, the experience reinforced the high standard of work within the organization and contributed to professional development.

APUA said it is looking ahead to next year’s competition with the aim of improving on this year’s results.
