The Kentish Pentecostal Church on Monday marked one year since the passing of Bishop Rev. Dr. Lester Emanuel, remembering him as a spiritual leader whose decades of service left a lasting impact on the church and wider community.

In a tribute shared on April 7, the church reflected on Emanuel’s more than 45 years of ministry, describing him as a devoted shepherd whose leadership strengthened families and shaped generations.

“Today, we pause not only to remember Bishop Emanuel’s remarkable journey, but to acknowledge the lasting imprint he left on every heart he touched,” the statement said.

Church officials highlighted his unwavering commitment, steady faith and sacrificial service, noting that his influence continues to be felt through the lives he impacted and the ministry he helped build.

Emanuel was remembered as a pillar of the Kentish Pentecostal Church, known for preaching with conviction, leading with wisdom and demonstrating compassion toward his congregation.

Though his voice is no longer heard from the pulpit, the church said his teachings and example remain a guiding light.

“His legacy is alive in our worship, our fellowship, and the love we share as a community,” the statement added.

The tribute was issued by Bishop Michael C. Butler, Sis. Bunny Butler and the Kentish Pentecostal Church Board, who described Emanuel’s life as one faithfully lived in service to God.

The church said it continues to honour his memory with gratitude, emphasizing that the foundation he laid continues to inspire and guide its members.
