The 2025 National Sports Awards have unveiled an extensive list of nominees for Senior Sportsman of the Year, highlighting a diverse group of athletes whose performances elevated Antigua and Barbuda on regional and international stages.
The category recognizes outstanding male athletes for excellence, leadership and dedication in their respective disciplines over the past year.
Among the nominees is arm wrestler Daniel Antonio, who captured double gold at the North American Championships, secured Pan-American success and finished in the top six at the World Championships in Bulgaria during a breakthrough season.
Rallycross driver Nicolas Geleyns, 19, earned three podium finishes in the FIA Euro RX3 Championship to place third overall in Europe, alongside strong showings in France and Germany.
Track and field athlete Christopher Johnson delivered a record-breaking year in shot put and discus while competing for the University of Delaware, setting national records and earning multiple All-Conference honors before representing Antigua and Barbuda at the NACAC Senior Championships.
Volleyball standout Cairon Davis helped secure gold at the EVA Final Four Championship and was named MVP and Best Outside Hitter for his performances at club and regional levels.
