Antigua and Barbuda is in crisis. I am devastated, outraged, and deeply shaken by the abduction of 9-year-old Chantelle Crump. A child—innocent and defenseless—was taken on her way home from school, still in her Five Islands Primary School uniform. Reports indicate she was abducted by a female driver in a silver Honda. This is no longer just a case of missing persons—this is the brazen kidnapping of a child in broad daylight.

We have had too many disappearances, too many unanswered questions, and too many grieving families. And now, a 9-year-old girl has been stolen from her loved ones. This is terror, and it is unacceptable. Let me be clear—this will not be tolerated.

I can only imagine the unimaginable pain that Chantelle’s parents are enduring right now. No parent should have to face this nightmare. My heart is with them, and I stand with them. But words are not enough—action is needed, and it is needed now.

Law enforcement has deployed resources, and I urge them to use every means necessary to locate Chantelle and bring her home safely. The first 24 hours are critical—there is no room for delay. I am calling on the people of Antigua and Barbuda: Be vigilant. Report anything suspicious. If you saw something, say something. Silence is complicity, and we cannot afford it.

This is the moment to take a stand. This cannot happen again. Our children must be safe. Our communities must be protected. Enough is enough.

I pray for Chantelle’s safe return. This country will not sit idly by while our children are taken. We will fight for them.
