Dear Hon. Minister of Education,

I am writing to bring a serious concern to your attention regarding the safety and supervision of the children at Sea View Farm Primary School.

I am asking the Ministry of Education to please look into the situation where children are being placed by the ice cream shop in the mornings and again in the afternoons instead of remaining safely within the school compound.

I am also very concerned that, in the mornings, cleaners are reportedly telling or directing children to leave the school compound and go over by the ice cream shop until a certain time. I am deeply troubled by this situation because the school compound should be one of the safest and most secure places for our children while they are under the school’s care.

My question is: Who would be held responsible if, God forbid, something were to happen to one of these children while they are outside the school compound?

These are children who depend on the adults responsible for them to provide a safe environment. Parents should not have to worry that their children are being sent away from the school grounds and left in an area where they may be exposed to traffic, strangers, or other dangers.

I am therefore respectfully asking the Ministry to investigate this matter urgently, speak with the school administration and relevant staff, and establish clear procedures to ensure that children remain properly supervised and in a safe location before school, during school hours, and after dismissal until they are released to the appropriate parent or guardian.

The safety of our children must come first. I sincerely hope this matter will be taken seriously and addressed before an unfortunate incident occurs.

Thank you for your attention to this very important concern. I look forward to seeing appropriate action taken to protect the children of Sea View Farm Primary School.
