Emilio Hodge, 34, has been ordered to pay $30,000 in compensation to a former co-worker he wounded with a cutlass during a workplace confrontation.

The High Court ordered Hodge to pay $2,000 immediately and the remaining balance in monthly installments of $800 beginning Oct. 30. He faces six months in prison if he defaults.

Hodge pleaded guilty in March to wounding with intent over the Nov. 24, 2022, incident at the Powells Recycling Plant.

Prosecutors said an argument escalated before Hodge attacked the complainant with a cutlass, causing several serious wounds that required medical treatment.

His attorney, Lawrence Daniels, told the court Hodge had no previous convictions, cared for his two children and was remorseful.
