The Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank Ltd. (ECAB) is mourning the death of employee Garth Gomes, affectionately known as “Cody.”

In a tribute published Thursday, the bank described Gomes as a dear colleague and friend who worked as a teller at its Coolidge branch.

“Garth was a valued member of the ECAB family whose warmth, professionalism, and dedication touched the lives of customers and colleagues alike,” the bank said.

ECAB said Gomes’ presence would be deeply missed and extended condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.

“We keep them in our thoughts and prayers and hope they find strength and comfort in the cherished memories they shared with him,” the bank said.

Gomes, 24, was found unresponsive at his home in Swetes on July 6. Police were called to the residence, where he was later pronounced dead. The circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately disclosed.
