St. Anthony’s Secondary School recorded a 90.4 per cent pass rate in the 2026 Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination, according to preliminary results released by the Ministry of Education.
The result placed St. Anthony’s slightly ahead of the ABICE Alister Francis Campus, which achieved an 88.8 per cent CAPE pass rate.
CXC Local Registrar Maritza West presented the figures during an ABS Presents discussion on Antigua and Barbuda’s examination performance.
“For the Alister Francis Campus, we have 88.8 per cent pass — excellent,” West said. “And for the St. Anthony’s Secondary School, we have a 90.4 per cent pass — excellent.”
The two institutions were identified as Antigua and Barbuda’s CAPE examination centres.
Officials also indicated that the name of the former Antigua State College remains in CXC’s records and will have to be updated to reflect the institution’s current name.
“We will definitely have to make a change in the CXC system because it’s still reflecting Antigua State College,” West said.
Both centres achieved overall pass rates approaching or exceeding 90 per cent, with St. Anthony’s outperforming the ABICE Alister Francis Campus by 1.6 percentage points.
