A suspected stone was hurled at the Medical Benefits Scheme’s Human Resources office Wednesday afternoon, adding to a string of incidents involving damaged government buildings in St. John’s.

The object hit a window shortly after 1 p.m. at the department, which is located above the MBS Pharmacy on Nevis Street.

Staff members were shaken by the incident and were subsequently allowed to leave work for the remainder of the afternoon.

The latest incident follows overnight damage at three public-sector offices on Independence Drive.

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority, Treasury Department and Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board all sustained damage to glass doors between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

Police are investigating those incidents. No connection between the earlier vandalism and Wednesday afternoon’s incident at MBS has been established.
