    Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board Appoints Joy Dublin Baptiste as First Female Chairperson

    ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA SOCIAL SECURITY BOARD APPOINTS MRS. JOY DUBLIN BAPTISTE AS FIRST FEMALE CHAIRPERSON

    ST. JOHN’S, ANTIGUA — The Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board (ABSSB) today announced a historic milestone in its governance with the appointment of Mrs. Joy Dublin Baptiste as Chairperson of the Board of Directors. Mrs. Dublin Baptiste is the first woman to hold this position since the institution’s establishment in 1973.

    Mrs. Dublin Baptiste brings extensive professional expertise, leadership, and a deep commitment to public service to the role. Her appointment marks a significant step forward for gender representation in key statutory bodies and national policy-making institutions across the nation.

    In her capacity as Chairperson, Mrs. Dublin Baptiste will lead the Board in institutional reform of the Social Security Fund. Her tenure begins at a vital time as Social Security continues to modernize its operational framework, enhance service delivery to beneficiaries, and safeguard the long-term integrity of the Fund.

    Joining Mrs. Dublin Baptiste on the newly appointed Board of Directors are sworn-in members Mr. David Matthias (Director), Mr. Alrick Daniel (Representative for Antigua & Barbuda Trades & Labour Union), Mr. Martin Cave (Representative for Chamber of Commerce), Mrs. Sherryann Brazier (Representative for Employers’ Federation) and Ms. Phylis Davis (Board Secretary). Also, on the Board to be sworn in is Mr. Dwayne Edwards. (Government’s representative).
