The HAPI housing initiative is celebrating the completion of its Yorks project, describing the effort as a demonstration of community spirit and collaboration in Antigua.
Adopt a Family’s Veldon Raggette said the project encountered several challenges but was ultimately completed through the combined efforts of government officials, donors, volunteers and other partners.
Raggette thanked Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez, Senators Abena St. Luce and Angelica O’Donoghue, Tony Greener and Social and Urban Transformation Minister Rawdon Turner for their support.
Special recognition was also given to Lesroy “Rastaman” George, Oliver Looby and other volunteers who contributed to the work.
Mary Baltimore and the Social Protection Board were also acknowledged, along with a team from His Majesty’s Prison that assisted with the project.
Raggette also thanked Lorna Lewis for her commitment to the initiative.
“HAPI continues to transform lives in every community across Antigua. This is what unity looks like,” the organisation said in its social media post.
The programme has undertaken housing projects aimed at improving living conditions for vulnerable families across Antigua.
