_POLICE SEIZE FIREARM, AMMUNITION AND FLARE GUN DURING SEPARATE OPERATIONS_
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Police have seized a firearm, several rounds of ammunition, and a flare gun during separate search operations conducted at Villa and Gray Hill.
At approximately 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 16, members of the Criminal Investigations Department Task Force, K-9 Unit, Narcotics Department, Special Services Unit, and Forensics Evidence Recovery Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Villa.
During the search, police discovered one firearm along with matching rounds of ammunition. Three occupants of the residence were arrested on suspicion of Possession of Firearm and Ammunition and taken into custody at the St. John’s Police Station.
The firearm and ammunition were seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation at Gray Hill, police executed a search warrant at a residence, and during the search, officers discovered a flare gun concealed inside a vehicle door. One person was arrested and taken into police custody.
These latest operations form part of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda’s ongoing crime-fighting strategy and intensified efforts to remove illegal firearms, ammunition, and other potentially dangerous weapons from the nation’s streets.
The Police Administration continues to appeal to members of the public to support these efforts by providing information concerning illegal firearms, ammunition, or persons involved in criminal activities.

All information provided to the police will be treated with the strictest confidence.
Investigations into both matters are ongoing.
