ST. JOHN’S, Antigua — Senior officials from The University of the West Indies (UWI) Five Islands Campus and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology have held discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration on the campus’s continued growth and expanding educational opportunities for Antiguans and Barbudans.

The meeting, held on Friday, July 24, brought together Campus Principal Professor C. Justin Robinson, Campus Registrar Dr. Camille Samuel and Campus Bursar Danielle Benjamin with Permanent Secretary Ena Dalso Henry.

According to the university, the discussions focused on deepening the partnership between UWI Five Islands and the government as the campus continues to expand its academic offerings and infrastructure.

Officials also reviewed progress on the ongoing Campus Expansion Project, with Dalso Henry encouraging continued dialogue between the Ministry and the university to address areas of mutual interest and ensure students have the best possible access to learning and research opportunities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the permanent secretary thanked Robinson and his team for their work and reaffirmed the importance of the longstanding collaboration between the Ministry of Education and UWI Five Islands.

The university said the meeting reflects its continued commitment to working closely with the government to strengthen higher education in Antigua and Barbuda and the wider sub-region.
